Harghita Can Connect Directly to EU Support – Introducing the AgoraEU Programme
On October 31, Csaba Borboly held a press conference to present the new #AgoraEU programme.
This initiative focuses on developing the fields of culture, media, and civil society within the European Union’s 2028–2034 budget cycle.
For the first time, regions – including Harghita County – can participate with their own projects, and their ideas can be directly integrated into EU programmes.
The initiative opens up #directEUfunding opportunities for local media, social networks, civil initiatives, and cultural projects through a simplified application process.
The #MEDIA+ subprogramme gives special support to minority, multicultural, and digital projects.
Local radio stations, online portals, and youth media outlets can apply directly, benefiting from mentoring and technological development.
The Creative Europe – Culture strand promotes cooperation, mobility, the digitalisation of cultural heritage, and inclusive, socially driven projects.
The CERV+ (Citizenship, Equality, Rights and Values) section strengthens democratic participation, legal awareness, and civic engagement.
Thus, Harghita County will not only be a participant but also an active contributor to the EU’s cultural and media support system.
This represents a real opportunity for local communities, young people, civil organisations, and media outlets to grow and modernise
