Culture plays a key role in community building

Everyone, including people living in less developed regions, should have access to cultural services.

Today in Brussels, I was invited by MEPs to a meeting of the Economic and Social Committee as a member and rapporteur of the Committee of the Regions.

We talked about the priorities of the incoming Hungarian Presidency and I had some suggestions on how to tackle demographic challenges.

In my report, I highlighted the aspects that are important to focus on and to support the Hungarian Presidency in achieving.

Harghita County would also be affected by these changes!

I proposed the initiative of the European Year of Rural Europe to focus on the cultural and creative value of rural areas.

We need a framework similar to the European Capitals of Culture initiative to support and promote rural culture

Further support is needed for projects promoting cultural relevance, experimentation and innovation in the field of contemporary visual arts, aimed at the development of rural areas.

I am confident that the European Union is just as concerned as we are with the development of rural and rural culture.
