Youth and Rural Voices on Europe’s Housing Challenge

At the EPP-CoR External Meeting in Badalona, I had the opportunity to highlight the perspective of youth and rural communities on the urgent housing challenge.

Housing has become increasingly unaffordable for young people, especially in rural and mountain regions, while rapid development often disregards traditional knowledge and cultural identity.

I emphasized the need for European cooperation that supports not only green and digital innovation, but also protects local heritage and empowers communities. Local and regional authorities must play a leading role in shaping inclusive and sustainable housing policies.
