The firefighters of Harghita County always face new challenges: fire, floods, windstorms, no matter what happens we can count on them every day.
Volunteer Firefighters Association of Harghita County , under the leadership of its president Albert Csaba, is involved in delivering donations and transporting refugees from Ukraine. They joined to the platform set up by the government and the Department for Emergency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and their minibuses are dispatched to the specified locations depending on the instructions they receive from there, transporting the refugees to embassies, airports, accommodations or borders.
Albert Csaba, the president of Volunteer Firefighters Association of Harghita County contacted the County Headquarters of Professional Volunteers and the surrounding headquarters. They consulted and agreed that the greatest need would be at the crossing of Vama Siret customs. So they started to organize the volunteer firefighters very quickly, bringing a team together, as well as the minibuses of local governments.
In view of the high demand, they ended up organizing the second round of a three-day transport and focused on those who were really in need, young children, mothers with small children.
Borboly Csaba, president, Harghita County Council said they were happy to join and ensured financial support for a part of the costs through their micro-regional associations with the funding of the County Council. As he said, they continue to collect the donations, encourages people to support the work of the volunteer firefighters and also asks everyone to help those in need with donations, money, non-perishable food, candles, and bedclothes.
As he said: “the war is not over yet and a lot of people is in need of help and support.”
