In Brussels with Minister Tibor Navracsics – shaping the developments of the future with shared responsibility

Csaba Borboly, Vice President of the Hargita County Council and member of the Committee of the Regions, met in Brussels with Tibor Navracsics, Hungary’s Minister for Regional Development.
The discussion focused on the European Union’s next multiannual financial framework (MFF) for 2028–2034 – the funds and development priorities that will shape the future of local communities in the coming decade.

“Those who do not prepare today will fall behind tomorrow. It is not enough to focus on daily politics – we must invest in the future,” emphasized Borboly Csaba after the Brussels meeting.

The meeting also addressed the future of cohesion policy and the common agricultural policy, the role of local governments, and the cooperation opportunities within the Brussels–Budapest–Bucharest “3B triangle.”
Minister Tibor Navracsics highlighted that it is essential for member states to start preparing for the new EU period in time, and it is good news that Romanian–Hungarian consultations have already begun, with the RMDSZ playing a key role in government participation.

Borboly Csaba noted:
“It was a pleasure to meet again with Minister Tibor Navracsics, who, as my former university professor and former EU Commissioner, has always stood for local governance, subsidiarity, and the power of local decision-making. Today, we discussed these values again – with shared responsibility and hope.”

The meeting took place together with members of the Hungarian CoR delegation, to whom Borboly Csaba expressed his special thanks for the invitation and ongoing cooperation.
