Borboly Csaba Gets Green Light In Brussels For Opinion On The Development Of Rural Areas Through Culture In The Specialised Commission
A new report on the promotion of cultural policies in rural areas in the framework of development and territorial cohesion strategies and the 2030 Agenda.
At the 19th meeting of the Social Policy, Education, Employment and Culture Committee (SEDEC), which took place today, 2 October, in Brussels, Borboly Csaba, President of Harghita County Council, rapporteur of the Draft Opinion on Promoting cultural policies in rural areas within the framework of development and territorial cohesion strategies and the 2030 Agenda, received the green light for the opinion drafted.
The aim of the draft opinion is to develop policies at EU level to promote the economic, social and environmental development of rural areas by harnessing cultural diversity and creativity, in order to enable their inhabitants to create jobs through cultural activities.

The report will be put to the vote at the plenary session of the European Committee of the Regions on 29-30 November 2023.

This opinion will contribute to a profound transformation of the rural environment!” said Borboly Csaba in his presentation.
