Regions are not merely the implementers of European policies; they are also their co-authors. We understand the real needs of local communities, educational institutions, businesses and employees. Libraries, cultural institutions, community spaces, businesses and workplaces can also become places of learning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main topics discussed included:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-spread=\"false\">\n<li>career guidance;<\/li>\n<li>youth policies;<\/li>\n<li>international mobility;<\/li>\n<li>short and flexible training programmes adapted to labour market needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Direct Relevance for Harghita County<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Csaba Borboly, these issues are also directly relevant to Harghita County. Training opportunities based on local realities and accessible to everyone\u2014regardless of their place of residence, age or social circumstances\u2014are essential to helping young people remain and prosper at home, addressing labour shortages and increasing the competitiveness of local businesses.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">\u201cPeople living in mountainous and rural areas must not be disadvantaged simply because they live far from major university or economic centres. European programmes must support locally available training, digital learning, professional mobility and the recognition of skills acquired in the workplace. The opportunity to learn also means the opportunity to build a future at home,\u201d he highlighted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Flexible and Inclusive Learning Systems<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">EARLALL\u2019s anniversary programme will conclude in December 2026 with its General Assembly in Sweden\u2019s V\u00e4stra G\u00f6taland Region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the network\u2019s main objectives for the coming period is to develop flexible and inclusive learning systems capable of responding to technological change, demographic challenges and the needs of a constantly evolving labour market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The future of lifelong learning in Europe, skills development and the role of regions were at the heart of discussions held in Brussels to mark the 25th anniversary of EARLALL.
