This outcome is not self-evident. The Committee of the Regions includes hundreds of members, and the rapporteur is not obliged to accept any amendments. dedicated funding within the LIFE program for regions affected by coexistence with wildlife;<\/p>\n
the principle that regions protecting nature must not be penalized.<\/p>\n

The report becomes the official position of the Committee of the Regions. Actual budget negotiations will take place in 2026\u20132027, and the new framework will come into force in 2028.<\/p>\n
Results will begin to be felt after 2028, if these principles are reflected in legislation. In EU decision-making, such documents shape what can realistically be advanced in final negotiations.<\/p>\n

The Romanian government now has a key opportunity to influence funding conditions for the coming years. It must ensure genuine involvement of local authorities in national plans and clearly present environmental needs.<\/p>\n
Romania should present its natural assets as a strength, not a burden, supported by concrete data, programs, and well-founded funding requests.<\/p>\n
