He emphasised that this is particularly important for those living in rural, mountainous and peripheral areas, where brain drain and the loss of talent are everyday challenges.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>In his view, equal access to the Erasmus+ programme had to be guaranteed for all students and higher education institutions. He stressed that young people must not become collateral victims of political debates or budgetary decisions, and that mobility opportunities needed to be predictable, fair and accessible regardless of geographical location.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Csaba Borboly considered it essential that the Erasmus+ programme place greater emphasis on vocational education and training, as well as on the development of strategic skills. In his opinion, mobility should not only serve the outward movement of young people, but also encourage the return of acquired knowledge and experience. By supporting vocational pathways and skills that respond to local needs, the programme could strengthen local small and medium-sized enterprises and help reduce youth outmigration from less developed regions.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Finally, he underlined that local and regional authorities should be recognised as genuine testing grounds for education, youth and sports policies. Through pilot projects and targeted capacity-building\u2014especially in disadvantaged inner regions\u2014local and regional actors could turn the \u201cUnion of Skills\u201d into a tangible reality.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, he pointed out that Erasmus+ is more than a mobility programme\u2014it is one of the most important instruments of European cohesion, equal opportunities and trust in the future, everywhere and for everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The amendment proposals put forward by\u00a0Csaba Borboly, Vice President of the Harghita County Council, were formulated with the clear objective of ensuring that the Erasmus+ programme truly belongs to all young people in Europe.
