At the RMDSZ mayors\u2019 meeting in Miercurea Ciuc \u2014 attended by Hunor Kelemen, President of RMDSZ, Deputy Prime Minister Barna T\u00e1nczos, Minister for Development Attila Cseke, the leadership of Harghita County Council, the county\u2019s mayors, and RMDSZ MPs \u2014 Vice President Csaba Borboly delivered a professionally grounded, forward-looking address.<\/p>\n
His speech focused on two key areas:<\/p>\n
Borboly stressed that preparations for the 2028\u20132034 EU budget cycle are already underway in Brussels.
\nIf Harghita County wants to be a winner, the work must begin now, in 2025 \u2014 not in 2027.<\/p>\n
County-level planning must begin by sector:
\n\u2022 agriculture
\n\u2022 youth
\n\u2022 economy
\n\u2022 education
\n\u2022 environmental and\u00a0nature\u00a0protection
\n\u2022 infrastructure
\n\u2022 healthcare
\n\u2022 energy<\/p>\n
“No one will write our future for us. If we don\u2019t prepare, it will be written in Bucharest \u2014 and it will not reflect the interests of our community.”<\/em><\/p>\n According to Borboly, officials in MIPE (Ministry of Investments and European Projects) do not know Harghita County\u2019s real needs \u2014 therefore planning must be done locally, with mayors and regional stakeholders.<\/p>\n Responding to the EU-related points in the speech, Minister Attila Cseke emphasised: The minister underlined that in the coming years the EU will expect: Borboly added: Borboly highlighted that RMDSZ President Hunor Kelemen confirmed: as Romania\u2019s economy stabilises, national funding sources may become available within a year and a half.<\/p>\n But for this, counties must be ready: “Priorities change every 2\u20133 years. Whoever does not keep their plans ready will fall behind.”<\/em><\/p>\n Borboly reminded the audience that: The groups to be reactivated: “You cannot skip the homework. Those who work today will win tomorrow.”<\/em><\/p>\n Closing message \u2013 the winners of the next period are being decided now<\/strong><\/p>\n Borboly summarised: “The future belongs to those local governments that work for their communities, think ahead, and act in time.
